Prime Video’s French rom‑drama ‘You+Me – Against the World’ rockets to #1 worldwide in just two days

The latest book‑to‑screen adaptation on Prime Video has become an instant global hit. Within 48 hours of its September 18 debut, the French‑language young‑adult film topped FlixPatrol’s worldwide list, claiming the No. 1 spot in the United States, key European markets and South America. Its rapid climb follows Prime’s recent success with non‑English titles, cementing the streamer’s reputation as a haven for international YA dramas. Based on the novel *Toi+Moi* by the pen‑name Emma Green, the story follows 18‑year‑old Alma Lancaster (Vittoria Di Savoia), a privileged law student who secretly pursues filmmaking. On campus she clashes with enigmatic loner Vadim Arcadi (Lucas Barski) while co‑creating a student film, only to see rivalry melt into friendship and then romance. Their budding love is threatened by a mysterious stalker intent on exposing secrets that could ruin both of them. Despite a modest 4.8/10 rating on IMDb, the film’s popularity has surged across continents, ranking as the top‑watched movie in France, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Indonesia. The achievement echoes Prime Video’s earlier breakthroughs, such as the German series *Maxton Hall* and the Spanish‑language hit *My Fault*, which also dominated charts despite mixed critical reception. Prime Video isn’t slowing down. Just days after *You+Me – Against the World*’s breakout, the platform is set to launch *The Love Hypothesis* on September 23, another high‑profile adaptation starring Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman. The back‑to‑back releases underline Prime’s aggressive push into literary adaptations, especially in the romantic‑drama arena, and promise more binge‑worthy titles for global audiences.
