Did You Know?
The new animated Knightfall scores a soaring 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it 2026’s top‑rated DC film.
Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall hit digital shelves on August 25, 2026, and within days it vaulted to a 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes – the highest score any DC film has earned this year, eclipsing even the studio’s own Supergirl.
The R‑rated animated feature stars Anson Mount as the Dark Knight, marking his second turn behind the cowl after voicing Batman in the Injustice movie. It launches the first installment of a three‑part adaptation of the classic Knightfall saga, where Bruce Wayne is pushed to his physical and mental limits by the hulking menace Bane.
Critics have praised the film’s gritty tone and faithful comic‑book storytelling, and audiences are responding in kind, with a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. While the rating is based on just ten critic reviews and could shift as more voices weigh in, the early buzz suggests the animated Knightfall is set to become a benchmark for DC’s cinematic ambitions this fall.
