Minions trade mischief for Hollywood stardom in a monster‑movie mashup, now streaming exclusively on Peacock.

The surprise hit that turned the Minions’ slapstick antics into a silver‑screen saga lands on Peacock this October. "Minions & Monsters" swaps the familiar Gru‑centric universe for a fresh Hollywood setting, where a new batch of yellow sidekicks become silent‑film stars. When the era of sound arrives, the Minions face an identity crisis—literally speaking a language no one else understands. To stay relevant, they pivot to a monster movie, blending classic cinema nostalgia with their trademark chaos. The film boasts an all‑star voice cast beyond Pierre Coffin’s marathon of Minion voices. Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges and Jesse Eisenberg join the roster, adding a layer of cinematic gravitas to the zany premise. Critics praised the movie for its inventive take on the Minions mythos, noting its clever commentary on Hollywood’s evolution. Stream it now on Peacock and see how these tiny troublemakers tackle the big screen in a whole new way.

The yellow mischief-makers finally get a love‑letter to cinema – and critics are eating it up!

The seventh instalment of the Despicable Me universe, Minions & Monsters, defied expectations by turning a seemingly safe cash‑grab into a surprisingly heartfelt homage to classic Hollywood. Critics have responded with an enthusiastic 89% approval on Rotten Tomatoes – the highest score the franchise has ever seen. Rather than simply recycling slap‑stick, the film sees the iconic yellow Minions stepping behind the camera to craft their own wacky monster movie set against the glitz of Old Hollywood. This meta‑premise lets the creators sprinkle in wink‑winks to cinema history, rewarding both kids and the adults who recognize the nods. Packed to the gills with clever references and a genuine affection for filmmaking, the sequel feels more artistic than its predecessors. It offers a rare blend of family‑friendly chaos and nostalgic charm, making it a repeat‑watchable treat for parents and their little fans alike. Whether this signals a new, more thoughtful direction for the franchise or remains a one‑off experiment, Minions & Monsters proves that even a well‑trodden sequel can surprise and delight when it embraces its love of the medium.
