Thrash (2026) is exactly what a survival thriller should be: Tense, atmospheric, and entirely focused on the struggle against the elements. Set during a Category 5 hurricane, the film avoids the"message-heavy" tropes that have plagued recent cinema, instead delivering a straightforward and brutal story about survival in a flooded coastal town. The sound design is the standout feature, creating an oppressive environment where the threat of the sharks is felt long before they are seen. Djimon Hounsou and Phoebe Dynevor give grounded performances that make you care about the outcome, and the decision to keep the runtime short ensures the pace never drags. It’s a rare modern thriller that prioritizes immersion and practical tension over political posturing, making it a highly satisfying watch for fans of the genre.Thrash (2026) is exactly what a survival thriller should be: Tense, atmospheric, and entirely focused on the struggle against the elements. This is not Crawl. This is not Jaws. This is not Bait. This is just a pale knock-off of either of those more interesting movies. The characters make very little sense, and are not very memorable. The effects are ok, but not anything noteworthy, the direction is flat. This is simply not a very good movie, even though it is well-produced and looks decent. Looking decent is not enough to make a good movie. This is not Crawl. This is not Jaws. This is not Bait. This is just a pale knock-off of either of those more interesting movies. Super Bad Trailer for The Asylum's 'The Odyssey' B-Movie Adaptation

"Odysseus will not leave my ocean alive." The Asylum is here to ruin your week with their latest awful B-movie spoof of another upcoming movie this summer. As usual. Because there is no more copyright to worry about with Homer, they're presenting their own version of The Odyssey. The Aslyum's latest take on this classic story is also literally called The Odyssey, playing against Christopher Nolan's epic adaptation of The Odyssey out in theaters this July. This version stars Dominic Keating as Antinous, Myrom Kingery as Odysseus, Morgan Flanagan as Penelope, Llana Barron, Patrick Byrnes, Jordan Iverach, Angelo Kern, and Tony Wood. It looks extremely bad in every possible way, of course that's expected, with some hideous monsters & shenanigans. I'm surprised they're still making these (covered in the doc Mockbuster), but I guess some people out there are paying to watch them. This is also packed with atrocious AI footage galore, which makes it look even worse. At least all the actors are real. But how much longer will they last... Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Marcel Walz's The Asylum's The Odyssey, from YouTube: King Odysseus (starring Myrom Kingery) is finally returning home after ten years of intense fighting and bloodshed in the Trojan war. But his arduous journey to get back to his beloved is fraught [...]
