Nicolas Cage steps into the cleats of John Madden – see the trailer that’s already sparking debate!
The first glimpse of David O. Russell’s upcoming biopic drops a surprising sight: Nicolas Cage channeling football legend John Madden. The trailer showcases Cage’s uncanny vocal mimicry and larger‑than‑life presence, prompting fans to ask whether he truly captures Madden’s iconic boom‑boom voice and unmistakable swagger.
Russell assembles a heavyweight cast to flesh out the saga. Christian Bale dons the role of Raiders owner Al Davis, while Kathryn Hahn portrays Madden’s daring wife Virginia, and John Mulaney appears as Trip Hawkins, the EA executive who turned Madden’s name into a gaming empire. The film promises to trace Madden’s rise from Super Bowl‑winning coach to beloved broadcaster and the mastermind behind the Madden NFL franchise.
MADDEN rolls out in select theaters on November 11, then streams on Amazon Prime Video a week later, on November 18. As the story of a “once‑in‑a‑century” personality hits the big screen, the trailer hints at a celebration of the man whose love of football and people reshaped the sport’s cultural landscape.
